Scouting in Glen Eira Stonnington District
Glen Eira Stonnington District (which stretches from Albert Park to Chadstone to East Bentleigh and Elsternwick) lies within the Melbourne Region, taking in the cities of Booroondara, Bayside, Port Phillip, Melbourne and the Docklands.
There are nineteen Scout Groups within the District.
The Scout movement world wide has 28 million members in 217 countries. Australia has 125,000 members of which some 35,000 are in Victoria. All Scouts regardless of Race or Religion share the same basic promise
and ideals as originally inspired by Lord Baden-Powell of Gilwell in 1907.
Scouting is the largest youth organisation in the world today.
Scouting is a training organisation teaching the youth of our community (both girls and boys) to become more self reliant, more aware and more responsible citizens.
